I'm less than 4 hr from Morrow, GA. Why does it take a package 7 days to get here from there ?

And why has USPS Informed Delivery become next to useless ? Unexpected downtimes, most packages don't show, everything listed as "in transit" with no ETA, doesn't display info from USPS "partners".

I had one package that spent a full month sitting at one place in GA. I thought it was lost, then it *finally* moved.

Somehow, I'm sure this is all DeJoy's doing, directly or indirectly. One more reason to hate Anus Orange.

ETA: I've had several packages arrive from Europe in good time, only to take a considerably longer time to reach me from the port of arrival. Even shipping from China is getting to be faster than transit from the next state over.

I sent a payment across the state by priority mail, about 120 miles, and it was shipped to Iowa, over 1000 miles away and sat there for a week before it came back to FL. I was "lucky" it came back, I've lost more than one payment in the mail. I've been forced to do everything online, which despite the claims, isn't more "efficient" than snail mail. It shifts an administrative burden from the corporations and government to consumer so they can save money on their admin costs.

Regarding email and on-line payments: "It shifts an administrative burden from the corporations and government to consumer so they can save money on their admin costs." I know so many people who leave themselves open to corporate theft simply because they're too lazy to keep track of their charge receipts.

It wasn't until recently that I became aware that it's standard practice for banks to simply pay the amount that CC companies demand rather than peruse a confirmation copy of a written check. I'd written a check for $1500 and my bank gave them $15000 because that's what the CC asked for. It was human error on the CC end but it was NOT going tom be caught by the bank as they had an agreement with the CC that they didn't need to forward the check back to the bank for confirmation. There was no plan in place to even deal with such a situation. It took me 90 days of griping and reminding to get the charges reversed on the fees for insufficient funds transferred from savings.

In a war of GI=GO, accuracy and then trust are the first casualties.

I finally looked up when I had placed the order, I thought I'd made a mistake, but it had been a month to the day - and it finally arrived the very next day.

That POS needs to go in December as promised.

One way or the other fire his ass and fight it out in court.

He has to go before he does any more damage.

There is a legitimate concern that his slowing of the mail will affect absentee ballots coming and going in the Virginia election.

I would however ask, why does it take FedEx 4 days to get a package loaded on the truck for delivery to my house in St. Louis from their local distribution center?

They're unionized. No shareholders, no way for an individual to make a personal profit in it. Just like public schools: charter schools aren't doing well, but the persist as a way for individuals to grab taxpayer money.

USPS prices "out of the water"?

I dunno 'bout that...in fact I whole heartedly disagree...under a dollar to post a letter anywhere in the 50 states, several sizes of "if fit fits it ships" boxes that are VERY affordable...have you tried shipping anything via FedEx/UPS/DHL recently?

You don't say where you are, but the only reason to say DeJoy's policies are behind it is to show that the same conditions are everywhere else (or that your community is special for some reason).

I've had no mail delivery problems over the past year. Letters or packages.

Admittedly, we live at the fringes of a major metro area.
I don't know what things are like in more remote locales, but the OP description isn't universal.
I have a recurring order for cigars with a company in the Carolinas. I click reorder and I get my order in 2-3 days every time. We're 750 miles from the Carolinas.
