The Republicans never give up even when they are in the minority.

We have to get meaner and tougher.

Playing by the old rules is not working.

Voters want someone who tries.

a tie in the Senate with VP Harris casting a deciding vote IF THERE'S A TIE, but we have two Democratic Senators who you couldn't even call moderates, they're "right-wing" Democrats and the filibuster (which no one wants to change) that prevents practically anything from getting done, and in the House we have a razor thin majority that leaves no room for error.

"We" don't control shit. "We" are at the mercy of two Senators who care far more about themselves than the people they supposedly represent.

Sorry, but without an asshole and filibuster proof majority in the Senate, we're going nowhere fast.

so not much room for attitude, imo.

I certainly wish 'nice' weren't such big a part of Prez Biden (and Dems generally.)

points that have already lost nationally twice, so it’s giving the moderates a way out. It’s really a shame Biden has to deal with this.

conservatives control the country. The majority in America are left leaning people based on the popular vote in national elections. Democrats have won the popular vote in 7 out of the last 9 presidential elections, but because of the Electoral College, we have won only 5 of those 9 elections. During that time span, Republican presidents have put 6 of the 9 SC Justices on the court. Gerrymandering is used to greatly impact the House and many of the state legislatures. There is a structural bias towards Republicans in the Senate because rural states are sparsely populated but are largely Republican, but highly populated states are usually Democratic. They are given the same number of Senators.

Most of America is left leaning, but Republicans control much of the government.

That two jerks are keeping the country from moving forward. It’s sickening that it’s being allowed to continue for as long as it has.

And please don’t respond with “well what would YOU do”. I’d kick their asses one way or another and make them get in line. Legal, illegal, moral, immoral. Too much is at stake for two grandstanders to be farting around.

And a whole bunch on the other side that don't seem to care about their country anymore. I'm wondering if there might be a few yet that may come over from the Dark Side. How is it, that Mitch keeps such a stranglehold on them, and we're herding cats?

And then I get scolded because Dems evidently would rather be known as being “nice” instead of fighting fire with fire and winning once in a while.

It otherwise is 2010 all over again (it might already be to late). Back then, the country watched the Democrats stumble all over themselves, eventually resulting in the ACA. It looked like the height of chaos and disorganization. It wasn’t. It was only politicking. But it was in public, highly visible. The result was stupendous losses in the Senate (6 seats, but we retained the majority) and House (64 seats and our majority was lost). At this point Biden and Democrats have nothing more to lose and everything to gain.

Money in politics. Citizen’s United. Putin picked candidates. “Greed is good” and “only the little people pay taxes”. It’s no wonder we can’t have nice things.
