watching President Biden meeting the Pope. I thought here is a man who truly wants to help the country, the people who need help and in fact the world. Instead of being able to move forward he is stunted by so many liars, opportunists, frauds and ingenious reporting it make me angry and sad for once again we the normal get shit on by the dumb and dumber.

The front line Fire and Paramedics have it the worse. I can only imagine that a large number of their patients are Covid Positive. And the amount of work they have to do to de-contaminate their ambulances after each run is probably an hour's worth of work for every call........

(2,839 posts)The reality shitshow our government has become. The corporate owned MSM loves every minute of it. Ratings, Ratings, Ratings!!! Money, Money, Money!!! The Biden $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill is by far one of the greatest and beneficial bills ever conceived for this country. It would benefit damn near everyone! But, no, it's just too much for Manchin to have everyday people to finally get a fair shake. It's too much for Sinema to acknowledge that people should get a chance to have even a taste of enjoyment in their one and only life on this planet.
Gutting climate change endeavors because Manchin is bought and paid for by big oil and gas is sickening. Blatant, in your face, in broad daylight corruption! And Sinema with her new big pharma buddies showering her with money so we can't have Medicare negotiate for reasonable and responsible drug prices for our elderly. Once again, sickening. Fuck them! I hope they fall off a cliff or if they're in a city that has a subway system I hope they fall off the platform and land on the third rail. You know, the one with the high voltage, high amperage electrical current. We can't have nice things because of only 2 rotten, corrupt pieces of shit. And yet, they get everything. They get lots of camera time. Lots of free money. We, get shafted once again.

by which I mean the Trumps. The Pope looked like he wanted so badly for the Trumps to all Just Go Away like the Visigoths they are, and at todays meeting both the Pope and the Bidens looked happy and natural.
And America didnt have to cringe in embarrassment.

(15,536 posts)Four lousy years and the other developed countries moved on without us. The damage that grifting, phony, criminal family did to our reputation and our country is going to take forever to repair.
On some level I hope they know that this country is going to throw the biggest goddamned party ever when he croaks!

(90,645 posts)Somewhere (probably in my brothers stash) is one given to our dad during his enlistment in the Army during WWII. It had the head of whoever the Pope was at the time, and it had supposedly been blessed.
In any case, medals of the Virgin Mary and St Christopher worn as a necklace are still quite common, though mass produced and unblessed are cherished by those who wear them.
