(2,497 posts)on the evening of the shot, and lasted about 2 days.
Mostly a very painful arm, some chills, and a general off feeling. I hope you are able to avoid this
But to me, a few days of discomfort is well worth a bit more piece of mind.

(4,306 posts)but I haven't had a booster yet, so am not sure.
With my first vaccine, the body aches which were my reaction, didn't really kick in until about 8 hours or so afterwards. The next day those were mostly gone, but I think I slept more than usual for a couple days.
My reaction to the second vaccine was less than with the first, which I understand to be less usual.

(866 posts)Not bad, but I wanted to clean the deck, but went back onside after a while and just thought, the hell with it. I felt better in the afternoon.

(65,217 posts)Wednesday afternoon, my left arm, which is the one I got the shot in, became so painful I couldn't bear it. From my shoulder to my elbow, I felt as though I had been kicked and stomped by a large person wearing heavy boots!
There was no position I could tolerate, and I tossed and turned all night trying to find a position that was bearable. I didn't sleep a wink Wednesday night. All day Thursday it continued to hurt like hell, and I was completely laid low by it, unable to do anything but continue to toss and turn in bed, trying unsuccessfully to ease the pain.
Today the pain was reduced by about half when I woke up, and continued to decrease over the course of the day. My arm is only slightly uncomfortable now, and by tomorrow, I imagine it will be fine, but those first two days of pain were really hard to get through.
I had no reaction at all to the first two shots, other than a bit of fatigue, but this arm pain was something I certainly hope I never have to deal with again.
I was completely surprised to be hit by a reaction 6 days after the booster, though. I wonder if that is at all common.

(1,263 posts)And more sore by 12 hours. But nowhere near unbearable or keeping me from sleeping. After about 36 to 48 hours the soreness started fading away and after 4 days it was completely gone. No other aches or chills or fever or tiredness. This was much the same as my first two shots last spring except this time my arm was a bit more sore, I think. Your Mileage May Vary. Good luck, and enjoy the feeling of extra security in a couple weeks!

(9,256 posts)Headache a couple hours later, went away. Read somewhere to not take ibuprofen and I have no Tylenol in the house.
Currently - started overnight - some muscle aches. Not horrible. No fever or chills, yet.

(50,779 posts)some bleeding probably from a different insertion point from previous 2 shots.
Otherwise, the only other side effect I had was with the first vaccine shot with pulling off the bandage.

(1,119 posts)Didnt have any effect for the 1st 12 hours, then that mule kicked me hard. Severe headache, sore from head to toe, nauseated, chills, fever and a softball sized red area around the injection site that is hard and hot. Much worse than the previous two shots. Finally after 72 hours I think I will live. Everything has resolved but the injection site soreness. My husband had no issues other than a slightly sore arm. Its just all so weird how it can be so different from injection to injection and from person to person. BUT I still dont regret getting the booster.

(64,851 posts)Nothing, so far. Not even a sore arm.
First Moderna, nothing.
2nd shot, a fever and myalgia in the shoulders and upper back that lasted 14 hours.
We'll see about the booster by morning.

(63,221 posts)felt a little achy before bed, but it really hit me overnight and woke up because I was so achy I could not get comfortable sleeping. Every inch of my body hurt and it was painful making contact with the surface of the bed. Getting to the kitchen or BR was an effort.
I placed an order through Instacart since I needed some more - varied - liquids (ginger ale, mango vitamin water and sweetened Pure Leaf lemon iced tea) and the concierge let them drop it off in front of my door because I really didn't feel like I could make it down to the lobby or lift the bag, that is how weak I feel.
I am off the sugar and artificial sweeteners, but today was an exception. I'm not sure why I was craving those things, but I was.
I will probably feel a bit better tommorrow and I am sure I will be fine by Monday. It's a good thing it is a nasty, rainy weekend here so I don't feel like I am missing out on anything. Fortunately, any kind of Vax symptoms, go away pretty quickly, so it's not going to drag out.
