Is Romney A "Good Morman"?

Those familiar with the Mormon “Law of Consecration” will be less surprised at this result than those whose knowledge of Mormons comes primarily from following the Republican primaries.

That law is laid out in one of the major Mormon scriptures, a book of modern revelations called the Doctrine & Covenants, in which Joseph Smith is instructed by God that “thou wilt remember the poor, and consecrate of thy properties for their support that which thou hast to impart unto them, with a covenant and a deed which cannot be broken.” This revelation led to the establishment of a communitarian system among the early Mormons called the United Order. That experiment didn’t last long, but the Law of Consecration is still invoked by Mormons in, for instance, discussions of the church’s welfare program. Whatever Mormons may think about the U.S. government’s welfare system, a portion of their church tithing does fund a welfare program specifically for other Mormons—and this, too, may influence Mormon attitudes about the importance of helping the poor.

* Bain in 1997 invested $46 million when buying Details, and made $93 million from stock offerings. The company filed for bankruptcy in 2003.

Romney's Bain invested 22 percent of the money it raised from 1987-95 in these five businesses, making a $578 million profit.

Let's leave the religion thing right out of it, shall we? We can pull verses out of any scripture to claim that someone isn't a True Whatever. What's the point of that?

The church that Michele Bachmann used to belong to had it its dogma that the Pope was the Antichrist. Martin Luther was an anti-semite, so should we attack Lutheran candidates on that basis?

Leave religious dogma out of campaigns. It's not relevant in most cases, particularly when you have to hunt for obscure passages that nobody has followed for scores of years.

Mitt Romney has many issues that he has spoken on that we can use to attack him. This Mormon stuff is crap, not a useful argument.

Romney is a Republican. Of course he doesn't give a shit about the poor.

Let's use substantial, genuine arguments, not bullshit like this.

5. First off I have yet to meet a good mormon.

I'm married to a recovering ______, and I haven't been treated worse than when I worked for a Mormon. On top of that he had the gall to tell the whole company during a meeting How much he made when he sold the company, of which I helped them build. Yes, early in the company, guess who was the one pulling business. In the end I was laid off and didn't receive a penny from the company sale all the while working 60 hour weeks. The worst people to work for period, and don't let there "family values" fool you.

On top of that, her authoritarian douche bag of a father, triggered my PTSD while sitting in my house.

Yea, he doesn't come around any more.

The whole religion is a twisted, hypocritical, abusive, cult as are 99.9% of all religions.

The things I see in Romney scares as much as Paul and the rest of that ilk.

The whole republican line up is "padded room" crazy.

They all must lose else things are going to get far worse.

PS. My relationship with God is personal, private, and simple. I don't follow any of the "prescribe literature" or think I could even put it down on paper.

As should be everybody else's.

Religion and government should never sleep together, period!

Although I will admit that I know next to N-O-T-H-I-N-G regarding Mormonism, other than they supposedly met Jesus in North America in the 19th century? Of course I find it amusing, but I find all other religions equally silly, to be honest.
