Newt Gingrich: The one percent want me to shut me up about Mitt Romney!

Amid calls from Republican leaders to back off criticism of Mitt Romney for deals he made at Bain Capital, Newt Gingrich defended the attacks and called on Mr. Romney to provide more details about corporate buyouts that led to bankruptcies.

He accused “extraordinarily wealthy institutions” of bringing pressure on him to rescind the criticism, and said they were telling him, “You’d better shut up.’’

Gingrich's polls are showing a tie in SC

http://chronicle.augusta.com/news/aiken/2012-01-11/sc-poll-mitt-romney-has-small-lead-over-newt-gingrich

The former Massachusetts governor’s lead is so small in the Palmetto State that he’s essentially tied with Newt Gingrich, according to a poll conducted for The Augusta Chronicle by InsiderAdvantage/Majority Opinion Research.

Romney’s 23 percent and Gingrich’s 21 percent fall within the 3.6 percent margin of error. Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, who came in second in the Iowa caucuses is in third place in South Carolina with 14 percent, while Texas Congressman Ron Paul, the runner-up in New Hampshire, is effectively tied with him at 13 percent

but Newt wouldn't know how to play fair, at anything, at anytime. It ain't all that funny when all that negative shit you may fling comes bouncing back to foul up your entire freakin' Li'l World. Newt can dish out the nastyness on his fellow republicans that he can afford to air and I won't shed a tear. Neither will I shed a tear when all of Newt's toxic shit comes bouncing back to tarnish his Tiffany.

He's not gonna get the nom, but he's doing a couple of things here (for his own little psychopathic reasons, to be sure):

First, he's doing a pretty nice job of flaying Willard in ways that will not heal before November, and
Second, he's legitimizing the general strategy of attacking Republicans for their corporate connections.

Assuming Willard gets the nom (I'm not convinced he will), all Obama would have to do is keep playing Newt's ads.
