maybe Belize or Costa Rica, Panama...or Europe: Spain, Portugal...for me it's a pipe dream because I have children and grandchildren, and I'm already as far away from some of them as i would ever want to tolerate. Anyway I can afford to live where I do, so that's a big component.

But, i do have that dream. I really do.

Have a friend there and I love the place. Going to try the digital nomad route at first.

Not for political or Covid reasons. Just because we wanted a late life adventure.

But we bless this choice. Far more than we imagined.

it's on my bucket list. but it really feels like a pipe dream. When I moved to NC from CA that was huge, something that not only I but everyone who knew me thought I would never do. It turned out well though, but clearly we're still in the US watching it die by republicans and feeling pretty helpless.

1. Had large property ( small house) that eventually we knew would not be able to tend

2. Wanted to plan an adventure that had no input from employers, family, friends. Just us

3. Be inspired by House Hunters Episode on St Martins. We thought, we could do that.

4. Started reading about places. Lead us to Costa Rica. Decided sight unseen where
we selected. Watched real estate. Planned for 13 years.

5. Waited to retire; poor ole pooch died.
Now we can move to Costa Rica

6. Auction all your personal property as the house sold.

7. Flew to San Jose. Rented a BnB for a month till we found a perfect spot.

8. Adopted a rescue Street dog.

9 Live happily ever after.

But it’s easier to get Residency in Panama than CR.
