Why is anyone surprised when a congressperson, an MP, etc takes foreign money?

This is capitalism

Everything is for sale

EveryONE is for sale

There is no way around it

Pass a law to prevent it and they find a loophole

Anytime you have the forces of the markets in play, anything is possible if you have enough money to buy the right people
