I just see selfish people.

After a long week of work, I went to Wegmans today to get food, prescriptions and a couple bottles of wine. I am in Northern Virginia and the great majority of rhe people were masked. Some N-95, Some KN-95, some surgical, some athletic, some designer, some old school cloth but most people are doing something to protect themselves and others.

And then there were the others, no masks, carts overflowing not giving two shits about protecting others, themselves or their families. I don’t know this for a fact, but I look at them and see the fake Christian preppies who could care less about their brothers and sisters and even less for the least among us.

It is simple, they are selfish fucktards. We tend to overcomplicate things, they are selfish fucktards.

Walgreens all masked wearing the range from cloth to N95. Sprouts I noticed one young woman unmasked. Last week I was at Sprouts and the their checkout network went down. There were probably 10 people in each line waiting for it to come back online. The woman (probably 60 - 70 years old) in front of me was the only one that day I noticed unmasked so I gave her a wide margin. She turned around to comment about wasting time and having better things to do. I answered that I’m not worried about wasting a few minutes I’m much more worried about catching covid and taking it home to my husband who has health issues. She huffed and puffed without saying anything and just turned around.

I live in a Blue county so overall pretty decent mask wearing although just remembered I ran into a QT mart to pick up a Powerball ticket and their cashiers were not masked so won’t be going back there.

Since one of only two political parties in America is anti-science tho, and the mass media carefully avoids mention of that, I have some clue why.

Often in traffic some asshole almost causing accidents has a stupid fish or cross on the back of the vehicle. On eBay when I've encountered seller/buyer problems it has been similar. I find there are a lot of people walking around under the banner of their religions with the attitude I will do WTF I want, because I'm better than you heathens.

the organic stores have less of those types I've noticed. Sure there are essential oils types in yoga pants who may not be vaccinated, but they still wear masks and won't buy up all of something to screw over others.

I like Wegmans too but that place is a zoo on weekends and before winter storms.

Western New York though. I was gobsmacked! I estimate one third of the people there wore no mask at all! I couldn't believe it.

This is a purplish colored area, and there are quite a few Trump-humpers around, but it's also a College town with quite a few educated Democrats as well.

Do these freaking people want to get COVID? There's a state mandate directing everyone to wear a mask in public places. There are big signs outside all entrances, but so many people are just ignoring them, and employees don't say a word to them.

I give up. I used to confront these maskholes, but not any more. I wear 3M NIOSH N95 masks all the time when in public. To hell with them. I hope they all get long COVID, and the belligerent Trump-humpers die.

better number of mask wearers than most other grocery stores in the area. All of the employees and most of the customers. They are still mostly wearing cloth masks, though. Very few N95s. But at least those who I saw wearing masks were wearing them correctly, with their noses covered.

In other grocery stores, employees wear masks, but most customers don't. I also see a lot of suppliers stocking their goods on shelves with their masks around their chins or necks. They wear them going in the door and push them down once they get into the aisles.

With last year's Delta scourge just about everyone was masked, but with Omicron they're acting like it's not even contagious!

Our Governor believes the spike is over, but it won't be if these idiots keep behaving like they are now.

I seldom go to Wegmans on Saturdays, so maybe that has something to do with it, but it really shocked me to see so many unprotected people.

for people to start wearing masks again.

Regarding the indifference to catching omicron, I think that is because several medical sources are reporting that omicron is milder than delta. So people think there's no serious risk from getting it. They don't realized that, evem if vaxxed and boosted they are playing covid roulette. They could become one of the based and boosted who does get a more serious case or long covid.

They also are intensely selfish, not caring who they spread it to.

Hello, former Rochesterian.

Apparently they think Omicron is like getting the sniffles? No one knows if these "sniffles" could last a lifetime. Doctors say that some people will lose their senses of taste and smell forever. But that's OK with them, as long as they don't have to wear a mask.

To hell with them. Do everything we can to protect ourselves and our loved ones, and they can go to hell. Who needs them?

Rather than suffer one nano second of inconvenience.

It is entitlement and privilege on an unprecedented scale.

Very profound and in my naivety during this ongoing global pandemic, I have been caught off guard by how common it is... But, banality is always like that.

Always with the cross never with the mask.

I think of myself as an Irish Catholic Democrat from Boston. It’s what I am. My DNA, although I am a lapsing Catholic, don’t get to church every weekend, eat meat on Friday occasionally during lent, Don’t always get to Mass on the holy days, but all that said, I still identify as and Irish Catholic Democrat. Learning this from kindergarten on was not hard …..I don’t want to get preachy, but it is the basis for civil society and Christianity.

It was drilled into our heads Love God and your neighbor. That simple. When asked which commandment was the most important, Jesus said, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself” (Matthew 22:37–39).

I was taught by nuns, we were always taught “ you are your brothers keeper”
