Mother Who Threatened To Bring Loaded Guns To A School In Protest Of Mask Mandates Has Been Charged

The Luray Police Department announced that 42-year-old Amelia King would be charged with oral threat on school property. King was captured Thursday on a video broadcast for the Page County Public Schools school board, which was considering a vote on mandating masks for students, stating, “My children will not come to school on Monday with a mask on … I will bring every single gun loaded and ready.”

My word, she said it on video! There's a record, and unless she wants to claim it was her long lost evil twin sister, she will be convicted. Not in a million years would I speak such threat, and certainly not on video. And if the video had not been present, there were still witnesses who heard her say it.

I just don't get how people that can be so stupid.

AND, board it up and take away the keys. I am sorry, regardless of my ignorance of the law, she made a blatant threat towards a school and the people within, I don't care that she did not specify targets. As anyone familiar with weapons can tell you, the thing is dangerous the moment a hand picks it up. Her irresponsible tirade should warrant removal of her children and a visit to her husband, since it is hard to believe that he does not share some level of her arrogance and/or entitlement (which also may indicate an unsafe environment for children). This crap needs to be nipped in the bud with very sharp clippers. Now.

So, maybe she's crazy like a fox, though I doubt it. More likely it's a severe case of affluenza.

Either way, it's her stupidity and disregard for the rule of law that assures she now has her consequence firmly attached to her backside.

...or, making a terrorist threat?

A class 1 misdemeanor charge doesn't seem adequate for threatening to shoot up a school.

Oh, I guess Karen was white, so she couldn't possibly be a terrorist.

The maximum penalty for the Class 1 misdemeanor she is charged with committing. There is no other provision in Virginia law that would support a case against her.
