Turning teachers in to a government hotline or email is a page out of the fascist's playbook.

And who decides what is a “divisive” lesson plan?

Is it divisive to teach children that the story of Christopher Columbus is a myth? Is it divisive to teach the horror and immortality of slavery or the impact of Jim Crow on the economic and political power of Black people? Is it divisive to teach that the internment of Japanese Americans was racist? Would it be divisive to teach that the Japanese were actually trying to negotiate a surrender when the United States choose to drop bombs on the civilian populations of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Is it divisive to discuss the causes of anti-Semitism or how the world stood silent as millions were murdered during the Holocaust? Or maybe it is divisive to teach students how the United States government perpetrated genocide against the Native Americans. This is a long list.

What this is really about is some white people fearing history and the future at the same time. They can not face historical facts about racism and they fear a future in which their power will be diminished because of changing demographics.

You can see how utterly pathetic these people are when you take a step back and look at it from just an inch of distance.

Great list. How is it that I never heard of Tulsa until maybe 10 years ago? Wilmington 5 years ago? John Punch for crying out loud and that was right where I grew up.

I have to say my daughter’s education shocked me at how they taught and what they taught. Probably in 3rd grade they learned fully about Columbus. They also learned that the whole John Smith Jamestown story was a lie. I mean it said so right in her cut and paste notes. They learned the actual story of Pocahontas too. AND I was truly shocked when a local county got rid of Harry Byrd Middle school’s name. Shocked.

The worst part to me is pitting teachers against families and making them default bad guys. Youngkin has no idea how that tip line is going to be used. Bad grade? Tip line. Kid gets punished? Tip line. He thinks this is going to be for the activist suburban white mom in yoga pants but it’s not.

Destroying public schools so that suburban white families can send their kids to private conservative religious schools subsidized with tax vouchers is part of the plan.

It's a form of resegregation.

This is my "class" - maybe yours too - and I can't describe the contempt and disgust I feel toward these racist, spoiled, ignorant assholes.

Did the same thing yesterday.
She invited any parent in NY state to call her office if their child was forced to wear a mask to school.

She is dispicable.
