If you're not at the table, you're gonna be on the menu...

Was thinking about the current Ukraine situation this morning and reflecting.

I recently watched the film "Munich" which recounts the days leading up to the agreement which lead to Nazi Germany's annexation of the Sudetenland in Chekoslovakia.

In that case France and Britain on one side, and Nsxi Germany and Italy signed a non-aggression pact over what would take place in Chekoslovakia...and Chekoslovakia was not part of the discussion

I can't help thinking there are some parallels here...substitute Russia's stated need for protection from NATO for Nazi Germany's need for "living space" and you have history repeating itself.

Discussions about NATO/European responses to an attack haven't included Ukraine to the extent I believe they should and I've heard no real reporting on the issue regarding the United Nations involvement.

Just a thought.

A re-enactment of the events leading up to WWII.

Any attempts to appease Putin will end badly.

That's one reason why Pres Biden's continual communications with Kiev are so important. Can't hang them out to dry.

Problem is many of the European countries are borderline "not my problem" believers.
