The statue of Terry Fox, which stands across from Parliament Hill in Ottawa, portrays the courage of this true national hero. At age 21, this young man began his Marathon of Hope to raise money for cancer research.

He ran for a total of 143 days, through the Maritimes, Quebec and Ontario. But the bone cancer that had claimed part of his right leg returned. He was forced to stop his run near Thunder Bay, Ontario. Terry Fox died on June 28, 1981, one month before his 23rd birthday.

His courage continues to inspire millions of people who each year participate in the Terry Fox Run in more than 50 countries to raise funds for cancer research.

The statue of Terry Fox was created by John Hooper in 1983.

across half the country. I just came to visit my dad. There were Trucks on the road blasting their horns a mile from Parliament hill. They need to constantly be fed red meat. Lots of pick up trucks with flags. Those pick up trucks are not going back and forth across the boarder like the 18 wheelers are. There is no vaxxine mandate for them. What are they doing in the convoy? ...... looking for red meat. My dad's nursing home is on the opposite side of many bus routes. Staff can't get to work.

4. Great but sentence construction: "defacing" seems to control the word series, as in:

defacing Terry Fox's statue, defacing Confederate flags, defacing swastikas.

Rearranging the order: "If your idea of freedom involves Confederate flags, swastikas, or defacing Terry Fox's statue... "

things. I could be if you participated in the Jan 6 riots you've lost the plot; the plot being, your humanity. It is the ending that really brings home the horrendous behavior.

so I don't know much of what is written here. I pay attention to the meta topics posted as I mostly look for content for the DU. I see that as my role.

Having no idea who Terry Fox was didn't help, either. Without that context, I was scratching my head for a moment there!

I had to read the tweet a couple of times in order to parse exactly what it was he meant. The way it's written, it comes across like he's saying the exact opposite.
