Even a rat knows when they are doomed. Trump has lost all of the protections he had while being a fake president. What we are hearing from him now is pure desperation.
I'm pretty sure calling the people investigating him mentally ill, calling the black women who are investigating him racists, will backfire.
When it comes to Trump inciting his brain dead voters, it could lead to violence, but it will be scattered violence. The violence will be crushed in the end. Trumps brain dead voters are not going to form an army to save Trump. Trumps brain dead voters are not going to take over America.
Imagine how trump is going to respond as he watches the open hearings. Imagine how he is going to respond as his top aides, lawyers are indicted. His sick brain is going to come apart at the seams.

And the longer they escape consequences for their anti-social behavior, the more deeply convinced they become that they could shoot someone and pay no price. That means he suffers neither shame nor stress. TFG lashes out because it gets media attention and bolsters the loyalty of his followers.

(32,080 posts)He has been mentally deteriorating for well over a year now. He can barely spew out his lies and projections without screwing up. And, that's what the accusations of racism and mental illness are--projection. Each rally, each interview just gets more deranged. I just hope he's at one of those rallies when his gasket finally does blow.

(21,312 posts)Trump is touring the country spreading the Big Lie, pushing for autocracy. His rants are meant to scare Merrick Garland.
I see no indication that Trump is afraid, he is emboldened seeing as DOJ has not arrested a single person who wasn't associated with the riot part of the coup attempt.
Day 47 since DOJ received the Mark Meadows criminal referral.

(6,915 posts)Trump wants his followers to riot in the streets if he faces consequences for his illegal behavior. He wants his followers to challenge the U.S.Governments security forces.
U.S. military forces are paid $700 billion a year to protect the U.S.from a hostile, violent takeover. I expect them to do the job theyre paid for. If Trump loyalists resign and form their own army like the Confederates of 1863, I expect the U.S. military to crush them.
Whats left is the corrupt egg-on-o-sphere of losers encouraging revolution from the comfort of their broadcast studios. They need to be dealt with also so any arrest of the conspiracy heads doesnt leave an underground opposition.

(21,312 posts)C'mon man I have worked in other countries that have military police roaming the streets, we certainly don't want that here.
We do not have adequate laws that address domestic terrorism. It is up to DOJ, to Merrick Garland to investigate and if warranted, to indict everyone who is involved in overthrowing our democracy. Garland's DOJ has the authority to investigate and indict, if it does nothing then our democracy is over.

(86,565 posts)We need to make damn sure that we strengthen our power in Congress and that takes winning elections at all levels as well as Congress.
This country is not just a democratic republic, it is managed by a participatory government. We have to participate in order for it to work and work for us. I think that fact needs some public notice.

Crimes committed by TDFG and his minions will be addressed, prosecuted, and may that be a lesson to us all that we are a Nation of Laws, not of one msn.

(21,312 posts)Her case is the civil case where Trump stands to lose a ton of money but no jail time.
The Manhattan DA does have to prove criminal intent and IMO, unless Weiselberger flips on Trump it's a hard case to win.
The Washington D.C. and Fulton county DA also have to prove criminal intent which is a high bar. Even the Rafensperger phone call must show that Trump knew he didn't win Georgia.
The select committee can only refer for criminal prosecution. It usually takes 9 days for DOJ to act on a criminal referral, it took 22 days to act on Steve Bannon and today is day 47 since the Meadows referral.
DOJ so far has only arrested people who were involved in the riot part of the coup, low hanging fruit.
I believe there are more than 2 civil suits against Trump. Several 1/6 law enforcement officers, Mary Trump, Michael Cohen, E. Jeanne Carroll, and probably more.
