Wait for it...

So, with some waking up to Republican gaslighting on Putin/Russia and posing questions to them about their past statements and behavior, how long before the retort and brush off begins:

"People are dying in Ukarine. Now's not the time for political cheap shots. We must stand togther as Americans for freedom around the world" (or some variation of that).

Total weasels.

3. It's always 'not the time,' one of their classic deflection statements

After which they go on to say how Biden and Hillary are to blame for whatever the topic is.

The denial takes a second and then they fill the time with as much filibustering bullshit as time or their interviewer lets them get away with.

Dems need to have good succinct responses to these deflection statements. Republicans have been using them for years with good affect and air time but democrats have yet to, as a group, have short, good, and repeated comebacks that stop Rs cold.

6. It's one of the things that pulls at me! You know Rs are effective

Using this technique because all of them do it. They get the message created during high level meetings and every R uses it, from the lowest guy on the totem pole to the top dogs. It’s fiendishly brilliant.

Dems explain themselves with logical arguments that I agree with but with the short attention span of the media and some citizens - well they just tune it out.

How about (in response to the ‘it’s not time’ BS) a response could be

“Of course not! That would mean you care which the people (fill in the blank) know you don’t.”

“It’s never the time, because that would mean you’d have to legislate and that would take you away from your fundraiser.”
