The Ukraine insurgency Russian troops will face is going to be brutal.

If Putin takes over Ukraine he will then face millions of Ukrainians in an armed insurgency. I have been looking at the pictures of the convoy stalled outside the capital.
It's a narrow road with forests on both sides. A road like that is wide open for hit and run attacks. I bet many of the main roads are like that.

That's what the Russian soldiers are going to face, hit and run attack by hundreds of small groups all across the country. Groups armed with Javelin, stinger missiles. Over time the insurgency will drive Russia out of Ukraine. Someone should remind Putin what happened to Russia in Afghanistan. This will be much worse.

I wanted to see him and his generals, his troops in tanks to be prevented from crossing Ukraine's borders.

I am bewildered why NATO and others didn't shore up Ukraine's borders with the might of NATO forces even though Ukraine isn't a member. Ok, so it's complicated for a number of reasons. But what good is it to have military forces along with the intelligence capabilities if it isn't being used to prevent invasions/incursions in the first place?

Especially when they knew this was to come months ago?
