GLENDALE, CA A person punched a woman walking past in a parking structure at the Glendale Fashion Center Wednesday morning in an unprovoked attack that was caught on camera. Now, police hope someone will recognize her assailant
---------
In the video, the woman can be seen walking about 25 feet away from the suspect when the person suddenly heads right for her. The two didn't appear to interact in any way before the suspect suddenly reaches out and punches her.
"The suspect was standing next to several bags and appeared to be smoking narcotics when the victim walked by," police said in a statement. "The suspect quickly walked up to the victim and struck her in the side of the head with (his or her) right hand."
In the video, the woman calmly walks away, and the suspect returned to their perch as though nothing happened.
Police released security images of the suspect, whose gender is not known. The suspect is about 5-feet- 4 inches to 5-feet-7 inches tall, with a medium build.

Jails are now holding tanks for the mentally disturbed who assault. After a few days in jail and under medication they're released.

(32,324 posts)Glendale police say that 33-year-old Margarida Eshan was caught on surveillance video punching a woman on her head in a parking garage. They say Eshan returned to the mall two days later, began screaming out of control, and a security guard recognized her from the earlier attack after he went to investigate.
Officers responded to the Glendale Fashion Center, located on the 200 block of N. Glendale Avenue, at about 2 a.m. after the security guard called police, officials said.
Eshan ran away from the scene before officers arrived, but was eventually found nearby and was later taken into custody.

Authorities say Eshan was in possession of EBT and Social Security cards that did not belong to her, along with heroin. They say she also had multiple outstanding warrants for battery, identity theft, and petty theft.
