Protective barriers erected at Russian embassy after truck drives through gates

I love me some Irish! I've been to Dublin, so I know where the American Embassy and the Israeli Embassy are, but not the Russian one. I'd contribute to a GoFundMe for this guy! Or at least buy him some Guinness!

Excerpt: The Russian embassy in Ireland says it “appreciates” the cooperation of Irish authorities after a large truck was driven through its gates on Monday afternoon.

The embassy had initially accused the Government of violating international law for allowing the incident to happen, and claimed members of the Garda “stood idle” as the incident happened.

In a follow-up statement, however, the embassy said: “We would like to inform that additional measures have been undertaken by the Garda to ensure safety and security of the embassy and its personnel. The embassy appreciates cooperation by the Irish authorities in this matter.”

Security barriers had been erected on Monday evening creating a buffer between the embassy and protesters.

In a backwater embassy.

A private citizen took a delivery or business truck (not even a big rig) and rear-ended the gate. That's about it. The Irish guards watched--which probably just means they didn't gun the drive down in a hail of automatic fire.

It's a huge international incident against the oppressed, wronged, victimized Russians by the imperialist Irish Nazis.

Bomb Kyiv, annex Crimea, insurgentify the Donbas ... We got rights.

"They hurt our fence! The f**king bastards!"

Lawfare, in a sense.

Yes, it would be wrong for somebody to hurt the gate at the US embassy in, say, Nepal (do we have one in Nepal?). But it's not a casus belli or worth more than a memo or two. One to the host government, "C'mon, maybe put up some sort of barrier?" The other to your own government, "Maybe beef up the gate?"
