It seems that many Russians outside of Russia are still supportive of this.

(26,579 posts)People are reporting from all over the world that Russians outside of Russia, or not even born there, are still supporting Putin and his war. Militant nationalism is a potent drug.

(58,647 posts)I honestly think that at first Ukrainians wanted to blame the Russian "government" and not the "people."
But when you see your country being systematically destroyed, it becomes harder and harder not to take it out on the ones actually pulling the trigger. "Governments" and even Putin are abstract. Russian soldiers committing war crimes are immediate and in their faces. This has a real WWII with updated weapons vibe to it. The longer it goes on, the more brutal it gets.

(81,451 posts)It is evident that Russians are ok with keeping a murderous shithead in power. (Incidentally, the war was approved unanimously by the Russian parliament.)

Yes, I know more people voted against him both times. But from the outside who is at fault?
We waited for the "good" republicans to clean up their mess, didn't happen. Now it is up to all USA citizens to clean up the mess. If that doesn't happen and we take another hard right turn in the mid terms, what next? Two years down the road the pukes get a President selected, not going to be pretty. So when the USA goes all repuke bat shit crazy on some Country, who do you think that Countries residents will blame?
