Prices Rising For Just About Everything Travel-Related

MIAMI (CBSMiami) – With most COVID restrictions lifted, millions of people are looking to travel again.

Gina Kramer and her daughter Frankie recently flew into southern California to visit family they weren’t able to see during the pandemic.

“I haven’t seen my family that lived here in three years, four years,” Kramer said. “It’s gonna be a family reunion of sorts.”

But the Kramers trip is coming at a higher cost because oil prices are making jet fuel more expensive. That has ticket prices soaring.

Hopper reports the average cost for domestic airfares in March is around $311, up 31.8% from the beginning of the year. Gina saw those increases while shopping for her ticket online.

“If you missed a window two days later the prices were like $100 more,” she said. ...............................(more)

The hotels were ridiculously overpriced and the show tickets were even worse.

.... but the airfares are in the $650-$800 (I refuse to pay that for domestic travel) r/t range, so we opted for Cancun in May instead.

for a coast to coast flight. So yeah, 100 dollar barrels are going to be included in your ticket price.

is the only way my upcoming trip to Thailand is remotely affordable. I could never fly business class if I actually had to pay for the ticket!

Just booked tickets to Las Vegas over the 4th July weekend for my wife and I. Her parents are taking the kids for a week to their place in Charlevoix. Would have cost me $3200. Luckily I have a ton of Skymiles to use so its going to cost $24 bucks lol.
