are so many governors emboldened to sign complete/almost complete abortion bans. I'm 67 years old. I have never seen the country so "openly" divided be issues.

If they had only restricted abortion to the Mississippi law, the decision would likely be 6-3.
They have been working on this for 49 years.
Had to do it now because if one of the SCOTUS should fall over dead (most likely a con), then Biden will nominate another justice to make it 5-4 the other way (for the complete ban).
They will not stop here... contraception of all types will be next up. Gay marriage after than. even inter-racial marriage could be up for review.
