(21,624 posts)What's more, I've long suspected that's one of the unspoken reasons Repugs support unfettered access to assault weapons: they're hoping for Rwanda-style massacres against anyone they don't like (but with guns).
I'm not saying all of them ruminate about such things - but some no doubt do.

'Then we won't call it a recession,' he said, 'we'll call it a banana. We are not having a banana!'

(6,818 posts)Statutes advising law enforcement of the threats posed by curly haired types are in process for crafting by top Republican legislators in deeply closeted, top secret, meetings as we speak. Some delay expected as the legislators are shopping for someone who can spell and doesn't mind being seen with them.

(54,358 posts)For many years the Belgian government was giving extremely favorable conditions to Moroccan immigrants to give Belgian employers a source of cheap labor. In the name of tolerance, violent crimes committed by the angry, bored and unwanted children of these people were ignored by giving the perps de facto immunity for crimes, major and minor (they finally drew the line at blowing up the airport). It was forbidden, in the interest of not stirring up anti-foreigner sentiment, to mention in the media that any violent crime was committed by a Moroccan. Predictably, it only stirred up greater anti-foreigner sentiment.
The Belgians cynically started to say among themselves that reported violent crimes, where the identity of the perpetrator was left out, were committed by the Swedes. As violent crimes really committed by Swedish citizens in Belgium are non-existant, like the audience at this high school, everyone knew what was meant, and the censorship came across as all the more moronic because of it.
