POST-BUFFALO POLL: Whopping 64 Percent of Republicans Say Discrimination Against White People ‘As Big a Problem’ As Anti-Black

Respondents to the poll were asked, “Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Discrimination against White people has become as big a problem as discrimination against Black people in the U.S.”

Republican voters were twice as likely as everyone else to agree, with 64 percent saying they “Strongly agree” (35%) or “Somewhat agree” (29%), and 29 percent saying they “Somewhat disagree” (19%) or “Strongly disagree” (10%).

And an even larger 73 percent of Trump voters agreed that “Discrimination against White people has become as big a problem as discrimination against Black people in the U.S.”

The pollster pointed out other partisan divides in the poll:

More than three-quarters (77%) of Biden voters, for instance, select racism as one of the issues that “played a role” in the Buffalo shooting. Only 42% of Trump voters say the same — roughly the same number (40%) who select “liberal media (such as MSNBC)” as a contributing factor.

Asked to choose which of eight issues played the “biggest” role in the shooting, most Trump voters pick mental illness (56%), followed by racism (15%) and liberal media (14%). Just 2% say “too many guns.”

In contrast, a plurality of Biden voters select racism (39%), followed by “conservative media (such as Fox News)” (27%), mental illness (14%) and too many guns (10%).

In that same poll, 61 percent of Trump voters — and 53 percent of Fox News viewers — agree with replacement theory, as described by the pollsters.

The poll also showed that 66 percent of Republicans and 69 percent of Trump voters are concerned “that native-born Americans are losing economic, political, and cultural influence in this country to immigrants.”

But those Black rappers can, that's every bit as oppressive as so-called lynchings and redlining and the other minor stuff you people are always complaining about.

Also, quotas, where minorities can get a jump on hard working white folks in education and jobs.
Doesn't matter that white.females typically get more government assistance and white males hold significantly more managerial and executive positions - the ones that pay - than any other typical category of applicant.
Facts don't matter. Increased competition for available living wage jobs that require high job performance doesn't matter.
An average white male can't just walk into a prospective good job based on a winning personality and the fact he looks like the boss any more. Managers don't hire off the street, people have to work hard to get entry level work in careers.
And those who didn't used to have to work so hard, those who used to get head of the line privilege, can't seem to understand that.
So they yell discrimination. Or "white replacement" or whatever else they feel the need to whine about, since they obviously didn't hustle hard enough to get that job or class position in the first place.

I remember discussions questioning the appeal of tfg at the beginning of his run which offered how it was those who believed that they were disenfranchised or "forgotten" by society that were the majority of those attracted to him. Shortly after that the racist cohort was acknowledged as the majority of that group. ❤

and of course anger at "others," a wave of addiction to nastiness that turns irrational, radicalized victims against politicians campaigning on positive action.

Of course the same grievance drug was being served hard on the left too, "they don't care about working people like me." The left grew its own populist movement to join tRump's in pushing aggressive antagonism against "the establishment" -- together defeating the election of progressive Democratic politicians.

In addition to those who voted tRump or third party to feed the addiction, 100 million Americans acted out by not voting at all in 2016.

understanding and talking about the real reasons conservatives and others are behaving as they are, people who drop in would go away impressed with how wise and insightful we were. Maybe we'd change the course of human events instead of just being swept along trading insults with them.

to be engaged about, and these people are addicted to rage.

Honestly, what does this say about these unfortunate downtrodden whites who are being "replaced" by immigrants who, in most cases, don't speak English, have nothing more than the clothes on their backs, and are complete strangers in a foreign land?

If they're being "replaced" by these immigrants perhaps they should take a look in a mirror and reflect upon the educational and economic opportunities their white privilege has offered them, and that they've completely squandered.

How can they, the most developed, educated, and sophisticated race in the entire world*, be replaced by ignorant, non-English speaking immigrants?

*-according to them.

the literal interpretation of their scripture, i.e., they looked in the mirror and saw that the wealth and power they wrought was all good and GAWDLY, and on the 7th day they rested to admire themselves and pray unceasingly to their new idols, LAND, MONEY, INTELLIGENCE, FREEDOM AND THE POWER that "the will of GAWD" bought, through which they could do "good enough" deeds that found PROFIT. The rest, not yet so Gawdly, those grateful enough to become evangelized, had jealous HOPE, thoughts and prayers! Thus, the American Dream, was created and taught.

The fun part is going to be the perversion (nice choice of words) of religion.
You might look at "The Enchantments of Mammon" by Eugene McCarraher
There are others. Too much to read, so I skim.

I came up with this triumvirate of
Quack so-called Christians,
politicians, and
oligarchs,
tied together with racism as the engine, and that series in DKos kind of confirmed that. It's a historical pattern.
Some references here. This is all so complex, so I try to boil things down for clarity.
https://democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=16739451

I really don't want to expand beyond this, for the TLDR factor.
The Daily Kos link is also here:
https://m.dailykos.com/stories/2021/8/6/2044226/-America-2021-The-Good-the-Bad-the-Ugly
“Democracy in Crisis: We’ve Been Headed Here for Decades.” Part 1of 8
Read all 8 to get the pattern in detail.

I should aim for one "accusation is a confession" a day, since I have been taking notes for a while.
This replacement theory was the core of nazi-ism, and still is.
There are references. I save stuff, but I do want to streamline things, as people go off in all directions here, and diversion is the #1 enemy tactic.
