All future generations of Americans will learn the Trump voters were people who denied, attacked, all facts, reason, science, math, instead calling all of it, Fake news. They will learn the Trump voters did not debate, compromise, reason, on anything.
They were simply people who called everything they did not agree with, Fake news. Everything they agreed with the real news. They will be remembered as people who went mad. It's already written.

(58,785 posts)voted Republican in 2016 and their numbers actually grew in 2020. (They were also well represented among the 40% or so who didn't vote at all -- notably, refusing to stop tRump/Repubs. The one group out of all POC who did, and did it awesomely, was black women who voted Democrat (but that did not include those who did not vote or voted Republican).
Nothing new. Conservative personality traits tend to lead to conservative political behavior., and roughly half of everyone is conservative-dominant by personality. Around 10% of the black men in Georgia who voted Democratic for Obama did not vote for Stacey Abrams, thus helping elect a white supremacist male as their governor. A majority of men have always preferred empowering other men of any color to empowering women; after all, white men gave POC men the vote half a century before women of any color.
In 2020 Hispanic voting hit historic numbers, but, appallingly, a majority of those newbies were energized to vote for tRump/DeSantis, giving FL to the Republicans. And so on.
I don't thik anyone who elected tRump/Repubs should be able to hide among those who fought against. Not one person. That includes LWers who talk high ideals out one side of their face and vote to defeat them out the other. The division is simple:
THOSE WHO HELPED ELECT THE TRUMP GOVERNMENT. THOSE WHO OPPOSED.

(4,913 posts)Trump voters are definitely not unique to history. Idiots have organized throughout history.

Theyre against everything. They will oppose any attempts at progress. Sad little people.

(6,535 posts)and assuming it's not them in charge of the world then (presumably they'd exterminate everyone they disapproved of or who refused to join them if they managed to seize and hold onto power, so it would only be them telling the history), neither of which are assumptions I'm willing to take for granted at this point.

(3,490 posts)Depending on how this all goes, they may go down as heroes and great patriots. If we go full fascist, as is as likely as not, they get to write the history.
We have to stop acting like this isnt a very real possibility. These people are absolute dupes and evil bastards but they come out to vote in full force. We cant afford a bit of slippage or its over.

(32,613 posts)Before we called them MAGAts and ChumpHumpers, Hillary named them "deplorables." Remember that?
That was actually a very appropriate description. Anyone who is still loyal to Chump after all THIS, is truly sad and deplorable. They are the very stupidest Americans following the most evil, greedy person they could ever imagine, and they have no idea how much he despises them.
