General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsHave I mentioned lately that I hate android? I have just been
upgraded to 11 and my world is now upside down. New stuff demands my attention or it will destroy whatever exists of structure here. And there wasn't much worthwhile there to begin with.

(31,167 posts)I absolutely loathe them.

(31,167 posts)from the top officials to the marketing. The products are expensive too.
The OS just "feels" right and is very reliable. Intuitive. The recent versions rarely crash. My current Mac is almost 8 years old after daily professional use but still integrates with my much newer iPhone and Apple TV without issue. I've always liked the way their hardware and software is designed. Quality manufacture.

(36,841 posts)massive improvement.
I also tried an android tablet several years ago because my iPad was pretty ancient and I found a really good deal. After about a month or two, it went into a drawer!

My upgrade was started on 5/21/22 and is unfinished as yet.

(33,575 posts)I haven't had any trouble on my phone or tablet. But I know it happens at times. Good luck.

(3,064 posts)I was seriously considering Samsung Galaxy but went with what I knew.
And if you go to Yahoo Mail on an iPhone 13 it'll just disappear of it's own accord. None of my others did this.
And this is a very widespread problem. It's not just a handful of phones. I'm thinking they may be looking to trash Yahoo for Gmail, which I hate.
I wish I'd bought the Samsung. This thing sucks. I paid a lot of money for a piece of shit.

(22,699 posts)about 2 years ago and it gets more quirky everyday. It's Predatory Capitalism way to force you buy a new tablet that you shouldn't need.

(4,741 posts)Standalone "Android" doesn't really exist; every manufacturer customizes the user interface to their own design.
A Samsung with OneUI is almost entirely unlike a Motorola with MyUX which is almost entirely unlike a Pixel with PixelUI, and they don't all carry the same level of consistency across upgrades.
Samsung is my poison of choice, they're pretty good about keeping the interface more or less the same - I barely noticed when 11 came through for me a little while back.

(6,679 posts)Neither gives me much fuss when they update - although my Kindle is so old the charge doesn't want to connect well. I might risk taking it somewhere to get cracked open and fixed because I really like the original Angry Birds.
Yes, me ... of all people.
