It is inevitable that someone is eventually going to turn. We know the Garland investigations have intensified. There is no telling who they have been questioning. All the people involved in the coup have been watching the hearings and they know they are in deep shit.
Someone is going to turn to save themselves. Will that someone appear tomorrow? We will find out.

(14,782 posts)Anyone who needs to save themselves would be making a deal with the entity capable of holding them accountable -- the DOJ.
If the DOJ is seeking cooperation from someone, they would want that person's testimony under oath to be in settings controlled by the prosecution, not an entirely different branch of government. Any testimony under oath in front of Congress now which doesn't match their later testimony as a prosecution witness undermines their usefulness, and jeopardizes the cases. The DOJ would very much prefer any critical witnesses not put their usefulness at risk. If one were seeking the DOJ's future good graces, testifying in front of Congress now would be a bad idea. Also, one would need a non-prosecution agreement in place before giving any testimony with any degree of self-incrimination anyway.
