When Trump told his followers to "march peacefully and patriotically" to the Capitol?

He meant exactly that, in my opinion.

He wanted them to be peaceful and patriotic on their way to the Capitol.

But then, he wanted them to "fight like hell".

Or they "would not have a country anymore".

They did exactly as they were told. They marched peacefully to the Capitol and then all hell broke loose.

They knew exactly what to do once they got there.

Trump's comments, in my opinion, was meant for his supporters not to create any disturbances on the way to the Capitol.

Once they got there, they had their orders.

It was like walking across a pasture of cow patties and pointing out the one clover blossom in the field.

He did not know that Pence was going to call on them later to restore order.

That is why he wanted to go with his mob to celebrate.

He visualized a huge Cecil B Demille production with himself in the starring role. His delusions were running rampant.

It's absolutely what he tries to do whenever he senses an opportunity for the spotlight.

January 6th was one of the biggest & best opportunities he would ever have to show the world he wasn't really a loser at all but a conquerer- a winner and, like Napoleon, he would crown himself Emperor while the whole world was watching.

His pathetic delusions have been running rampant for about 7 decades now, each year of his life is more deplorable than the last.

Why did National Guard respond to Pence?

Why was Guard delayed for hours?

Is that prior to Jan 6th, there was concern that TFG would use the Armed forces to stay in power. MAYBE that played a part. Not only that, it is still gonna take at least a few hours from the time a governor activates a unit until the time it gets deployed. I thought the VA and MD Guard units acted faster on Jan 6 then our MN units acted during the George Floyd riots.

in a movie and he wrote the script. What he later saw on the TV screens was what he had planned and hoped for, though in his version of the script, he was there leading them on. He's lived in a media world his entire life and everything was about the optics.

and his followers did exactly as he instructed. It really makes his "Stand back and stand by" comment even more chilling.

You are, of course, correct. We've all seen it. We all know what his intent was. And now, after the last hearing, we know it even more.
