But several members of the select panel say Ornato, not Hutchinson, is the one with credibility problems and have moved to publicly preempt any doubts he might raise.
There seems to be a major thread here
Tony Ornato likes to lie, Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-Ill.) tweeted Thursday after another former Trump White House official, Alyssa Farah, questioned Ornatos honesty.
Rep. Stephanie Murphy (D-Fla.), another Jan. 6 committee member, said in a Wednesday interview with NBC that Ornato did not have as clear of memories from this period of time as Hutchinson did.
Their comments, echoed by other select panel lawmakers and aides, came as the committee began rallying around Hutchinson after her testimony painted a picture of an out-of-control Trump that raised new questions about his culpability for the events of Jan. 6.

(59,474 posts)I completely believe that anything Hutchinson said he told her, was told to her. Anything where his saying something in private could be wrong. However, the most damning things - such as Trump knowing there were armed people - and some of the some damaging to Trump's image - such as throwing plates etc were things she personally saw or heard.
The committee has said others confirmed that he argued with the SS on going to the Capitol. It is important to note that only thing in question is whether Trump tried to take the wheel or attack the SS person. From her testimony Engle was there and very disturbed when Ornata told her that. It could be exaggerated, but it was obvious that Trump was furious and wanted to go to the capitol. That alone is a major problem.
As to believing he was full of rage, consider that his highly crafted persona actually makes this very believable. (Consider that EVEN IF someone claimed Obama or Biden did any of these things, it would not be believable.)
