Florida continues the race to be #1 depravity.
On Tuesday night, the Leon County School Board unanimously approved its LGBTQ Inclusive School Guide, which includes a provision to alert parents if a student who is open about their gender identity is in their childs physical education class or with them on an overnight school trip.
Upon notification or determination of a student who is open about their gender identity, parents of the affected students will be notified of reasonable accommodation options available, the guidelines read. Parents or students who have concerns about rooming assignments for their students upcoming overnight event based on religious or privacy concerns may request an accommodation.

Gender identities are not limited to trans individuals. Since most school forms request identification of that gender, every student (aside from those who refuse to check a box) is "open about their gender identity."
Dear parent:
All 30 children in your child's PE class are "open about their gender identity" except Taylor who did not check any of the gender identity boxes."

(16,190 posts)A square box when they are not square. To publicly shame them as this does, is abuse n may take a lifetime to overcome..if it can ever be. All of us have worth even if we dont fit in any box others expect them to. This is cruel and it doesnt have to be.

(1,962 posts)Then it's perfectly okay to point out innocent people. "That one's gay" or "There's a gay" or "*gasp!!!* That one's transgender!"
Because let's face it. The law isn't about saying gay... It's warning people "Don't BE Gay in Florida... OR ELSE!"
This is going to wind up hurting a lot of kids - both LGBTQ and straight. As far as Governor Elevator Shoes is concerned, mission accomplished. After all, the cruelty is the point.
