IMO that closer was a shot over the bow to the extremists in the repuke party. Always been my fear out of this, the resurrection of the neo-cons, and they come out looking like saviors in all of this.

(2,031 posts)I didn't know that was a thing.
I wonder how Lisa Murkowski did her write in after losing her primary? Maybe The GQP gets a pass in AK?

(35,622 posts)as a strong, decisive leader. If she ran, I think I would be worried unless we also had a candidate who could match her (we have plenty from which to choose).
Of course, we do have to remember that she is garnering a ton of media face time right now. That won't always be the case, but she may very well figure out how to extend her ten minutes.

(89,241 posts)up . I would like to know who exactly they think will support her ?
Yeah, she can maybe get a higher percentage than most 3rd party candidates but even then it would be far too small to win . I don't think she would even get double digits .

(89,241 posts)But what she did means she has no support anywhere . Her policy positions are too conservative to run as an independent . Her going after Trump means she has no chance at GOP nomination .

(35,955 posts)That's the problem with a country that has a two party system - people like Liz Cheney who are ostracised from their party but have no home in the other have no place to be. She'll probs pick up some lucrative work outside the government but in a few years after Trumps bloated rotting corpse is buried people will look at the work the J6 committee did and understand what happened. That's when Liz Cheney is going to return and she's going to be a powerful figure. I hate everything about her politically, but she's shown incredible integrity and courage in defending democracy, and for that she's got my respect....

I was actually wondering how she might be as FBI Director.

She is not peeling away any Biden voters.
Good luck

(9,998 posts)Like someone upthread said, she won't even reach the double digits in terms of support. I doubt she would exceed 5%.
If she runs, it will be purely a play for campaign money.

(32,641 posts)she can peel off enough votes to swing an election. That would make it a big deal in the National election. Her state wont be a big deal, not enough voters to swing any National vote. We just need options for Independents and rePubs that are on the fence.

(16,313 posts)She chose the committee over her career in GOP politics moving forward. Her name is mud in those circles now.
The fundraising and the prospects of not doing well will almost certainly dissuade her from running for potus.
