Morning Joe reveals 'disturbing' talk with 'Washington fixture' who wants to 'destroy our country' to save Trump

"If people want to understand the depths to which this anti-American sentiment is running in the Republican Party, I had two conversations yesterday," Scarborough said. "One with a family member and one with a Washington fixture, since the days of Ronald Reagan. Both were talking about how the FBI was the gestapo and they needed to be stamped out, spoke of revolution, and the Washington fixture, a guy who I always considered to be a mainstream conservative, a guy who, in the past at least, expressed concerns about some of Donald Trump's extremities, said to me, 'Joe, we can replace the U.S. government."

Conservatism espouses that there is a "natural hierarchy" to society and that "the best" people are at the top. It is basically an aristocratic or monarchical system of government, except the new "Nobility" are Wealthy White Men (which is basically what is was during monarchy). Those at the top instill the rules for those at the bottom but do not necessarily have to follow those same rules because they are special.

While traditional, American Conservatives were not openly vulgar and crooked like Trump, they basically hold the same belief systems that he does. The difference is that Trump is a sociopath and has no filter.

Why do you think that Trump found such success within the Conservative movement? He didn't try to run as a liberal or progressive like Bloomberg did. Conservatism lends itself to people like Trump. "Republican principled conservative believers" are seeing that the mask won't be going back on. They either have to embrace the extremism or abandon their ideology.

13. Keith Olbermann did an absolutely brilliant take-down of Scarborough

Aug 2022

on his new podcast, which I would HIGHLY recommend.

He stated that the reason why Scarborough was so over-the-top and gushing in his praise for, and willingness to give airtime to Trump throughout the 2015 and 2016 campaign - was because Scarborough believed he had a shot at becoming his VP nominee!!

Once that ship had sailed, he suddenly began calling out some of his words and actions, and once sworn into office, bent over backwards in the effort to become his harshest TV critic.

Looks like they had it ready to roll out from the day before the elections.

I think all these paeans to Liz Cheney's patriotism are overblown. Look at her voting record, even since the establishment of the J6 Committee. Her record is solidly in line with all the other GOP reps - against voting rights, against abortion rights etc. She is no patriot to me based on those votes. I think she is obsessed with a single issue, and that is to prevent Trump from being POTUS again. That is an admirable goal of course, but let us laud her for it and not for her "patriotism".

They’ve been saying this since the summer of 1973. They have never gotten over Nixon having to be the least accountability leveled at him. They’ve been a revanchist party since then.

I think Joe just realized that principle and Republican parted ways some time ago. The base are not duped, this is what they want too. What may be dawning on him is that he isn’t safe. Frankenstein’s monster usually kills its makers.
