(32,754 posts)The ppl of Ukraine crowd sourced several million dollars a few months back to buy more Bayraktar drones. The company decided to just give them the drones and told them to keep the money and spend it on other war needs.

(46,887 posts)The Bayraktar is a Turkish unmanned armed aerial vehicle. It was developed by Baykar Makina company. It is a medium-altitude attack drone, and has long endurance. It can be used for reconnaissance, surveillance and ground attack.
The cost per unit has not been made public, but maybe $5 million per unit.

From a military strategy point of view, the invasion could have taken a couple of days.
But it was bungled by the FSB (the new KGB).
The FSB badly underestimated Ukrainian resolve and overestimated the will of their puppets installed into Ukrainian office. When the time came for them to decapitate the Ukrainian government, the FSB puppets just ran after talking Putin's money.
