Brooklyn dad says Beyonce's security stopped him from seeing preemie twins

Brooklyn dad says Beyonce's security stopped him from seeing preemie twins

Hip-hop parents Beyoncé and Jay-Z were in lullaby land with their baby girl Blue Ivy Carter Sunday, but one new dad was fuming over the velvet rope in the maternity ward that kept him away from his twins.

Neil Coulon, 38, of Brooklyn said the stress of his wife delivering two premature girls was tripled by Beyoncé’s bodyguards treating Lenox Hill Hospital like an exclusive nightclub.

Coulon griped that he’s been repeatedly barred from the sixth-floor neonatal intensive care unit, once for 20 minutes, by the superstar couple’s private security.

He said bodyguards wearing headsets even cleared the sixth floor waiting room, booting his relatives out.

“Three times they stopped me from entering or exiting the NICU (Neo-natal Intensive Care Unit) and it happened once on Friday — just because they wanted to use the hallway,” said Coulon, a contractor from Bedford-Stuyvesant.

A mother's age has a LOT to do with it. The older first time mothers get, the bigger the chance of twins hence part of the reason why the rate is going up - older mothers. It's not a HUGE difference overall anyway, the rate of twins used to be 1 in 98 or something like that 30 or 40 years ago, and it's now 1 in 87. A bit more common, but it's not like it's all over the place. I had more twins in my small school when I was growing up (2 sets in my class) than my kids do total in 3 separate schools. And that WAS before most modern fertility treatments.

among famous people.

The probability of having twins was 1 in 80 pregnancies back in 1980. Now? Dramatic change. 1 in 53. As time goes by, I expect it will change even more. Now even the house cat is having twins, so to speak.

Beyonce is not that old, but she's a star with a schedule, and can't be seen sporting bellies during movies and certain times. If she can program it, all the better. Waiting till the body decides to get pregnant is not something people want nowadays. Movie stars, singers, etc. are frequent users of fertility drugs, but they're certainly not the only ones. Fertility drugs are nowadays taken like candy.

Here's what an article says about that.

"You have a double whammy going on. There are more older moms and more widespread use of fertility-enhancing therapies," Martin said.

Beyonce & Jay-Z can afford to take an entourage of nurses home with them, not sure if that's a viable option, but I can't see why not.

Also: Naming your child "Blue" as a first name is terrible. Middle names are bad enough. like Elijah Blue and etc. It sounds like "blew"

It would be one thing if the hospital security was enforcing this.

What authority did they have? I would have tried to walk past and then called the cops if they laid a finger on me.

30. Years ago, a friend of mine was 'arrested' by private security.

It's a horrible story with a happy ending.

She was working at a restaurant with an underground parking lot where the employees parked in the back, as far from the entrance as you could get in that lot. She was walking to her car after work and smelled something 'funny' in the garage. She walked around a corner and found herself facing two security guards smoking a joint right next to where she was parked. So she walked around them to get into her car, thinking the best thing was just to ignore their joint smoking party. But the guards freaked out, grabbed her, threw down the joint and had her in cuffs before she could get into her car.

The security guys told her she was under arrest for possession of marijuana and called the cops. Cops came, talked to everyone, picked up the joint. They ended up letting my friend go. They later said the smell of pot on the security guys gave them away. And my friend, having just gotten off work, had no pot smell on her. She had sat in the back of the police car long enough that the cops could tell she hadn't been smoking pot. The police reported the incident to the mall that employed the security guards and they were both fired.

My friend then hired an attorney and the settlement she received paid off her student loans. (That's the happy ending.)

It clears the hospital which means the holpital followed procedures. It doesn't mean that private security wasn't assholes. And the hospital already admitted that they had modified security procedure for the couple.

I had to remove a deluded subject at our FMC a few months ago. He had a bowie knife he was told to remove. he began to give me lip and I noticed the bulge at this waist...Yep his 9mm because you never know when a newborn is going to go gangsta on your ass. But hey, he has his permit!!!that makes it all OK!

We had an interesting conversation and he finally realized he was seconds away from not seeing his bouncing baby boy because there was a jail cell awaiting his occupancy if he did not leave immediately and return unarmed.

North Shore LIJ is the second largest secular non-profit health system in the country.

They are not a New York State or City hospital.

When someone shows up at the hospital with a lot of cash, they get special accommodation.

You often see parts of hospitals named after charitable donors. I imagine that those folks get special accommodation too.
