Not completely sure how all this will work for him, but 1) he acts like he is so above the normal processes; 2) when's the last time you ever heard of someone just demanding papers that are classified be handed back?

If I were Garland, I'd just figure out how to charge him for absolutely everything I could make stick, including littering, if it were applicable. Donald may be barking up the wrong tree.

But not every document created during a president's term is necessarily a presidential record. For example, if the records seized included communications between Trump and his personal attorneys, that would be privileged material. And executive privilege comes into play as well when presidential documents are involved (although Trump's not likely to prevail with an executive privilege-based argument in the context of a criminal investigation).

In short, there is a great deal of misunderstanding of the purpose of the Special Master process reflected in DU posts.

16. One thing I have learned

is not to presume that everything will go the way we think it should. One trend you can see is that people are striving to bend over backward in deference to Trump. Now, I think a judge should take the middle row. Donald could get a Master just so he will shut up. Such a person could be helpful to the Judge.

Do you ever think that the Special Master might go, "Holy Shit! Lock him up right now!" Either they have something or they don't. Donald sure as hell knows what they took. This is not mystery to him.

So, I don't know exactly what game he is playing. It won't stop the fingerprinting. that's probably done. He might just be trying to find out whether they have some doc or object, like a thumb drive or something, with incriminating info on it.
