Its starting to dawn on me, how a couple of my MAGA relatives have been dealing with the news

about their fuhrer's onslaught of legal problems. THEYRE NOT LISTENING TO THE NEWS!
Now, mind you, the couple that I'm still on speaking terms with, aren't among the ones who are threatening to riot in the streets. But their hero's transgressions ARE causing them some misgivings.
And they have told me bluntly, that "I quit listening to the news, its too depressing."
It may spell trouble for Fox, but, more importantly, it may spell trouble for the Republican Party. If their constituents aren't watching the news, then their messaging is not getting out. If they can't get out their message, then those constituents are going to sit home on election day.
Anyway, that's what I have observed, and that's my prediction. Not a riot in the streets, which some leaders seem to be encouraging, but a general desertion of the voting booths.

Some other charismatic "winner" will come around for them to follow blindly and cheer for.
If you try to remind them of that box of Trump memorabilia that's probably going to be stuffed in the back of the closet, garaged, or attic, they just won't have any clue as to why they have it. Must have been something their nutty uncle or slacker kid left for them to store and they never got rid it.
And they'll get all defensive if you press them on it.
Seen it before with some former rabid Nixon supporters long post Watergate.

Lately I have not received any emails in over two months. I periodically ask them where they are and how the feel about Biden kicking their asses daily. All Quiet on the Puke front.

If they're not listening to "news" then they are not getting fed the propaganda, because their obvious news sources have been those praising Hair Furor, not criticizing him. Now that even elements of Faux Noise have been putting out reality adjacent reports of what trump did, they're getting stressed and therefore turning it off. And if they eschew voting, good for America.

Maybe in some time, they will be ready for some reality. Maybe?

are that some of these people do not want to be on the side of a loser/traitor to his country, so they are starting to lay low so that when he's indicted they can pretend they never voted for him. Many of us remember how Nixon won in a landslide and after his criminality was exposed, you couldn't find a Nixon voter for love or money. No one would admit to having voted for him.

Praising of Trump or criticism of Biden is pretty much gone.

The GOP has nothing to be energized about. Everything they are throwing against the wall isn't sticking. When they do think they have an issue, Trump does something or something about him that happened before comes up and totally derails their messaging. Then they are left defending him.

The RNC told Trump not to announce running until after the mid-terms as to not screw up their plans. But he still managed to do that anyway.
