I was surprised when the DOJ swiftly accepted Tr**p's choice of Judge Dearie as the Special Master. They didn't question that selection by TFG and jumped on it quickly.
Now as I see how Judge Dearie and the 11th Circuit handled this issue - I sit back and wonder if Tr**p's lawyers perhaps didn't really agree with how TFG wanted to handle this mess and suggested to him a Judge they knew wouldn't weigh in for Tr**p.
I'm wondering if his lawyers set him up?

I bet they are still pinching their little lawyer butts.

(31,981 posts)The Special Master was never important to the investigation. Other than separating out some personal papers his rulings were never going to impact the final result. BTW where are all the people who said Judge Dearie was a Trump judge and the 11th Circuit were Trump judges who would side with Trump? They seemed to have vanished...

(3,286 posts)They were passively refusing sort of ever to assert clearly in their pleadings what Trump kept saying about declassifying. They knew that was a lie, and knew they'd be risking their careers if they asserted that lie. So they wriggled around, never quite saying it, until the court and the special master saved them by saying that the issue was settled, there was no declassification.
I don't think they "threw" the case, but they made sure not to put into signed court pleadings that big lie of Trump's.

(9,291 posts)I always see that Trump is running his own legal adventures, while using others law licenses. Like he did with politicians he thought he own, he believes only he knows how to run things.
No actual thinking attorney would do most of the things they are being forced to do. Which is why he pay to pay upfront, and still only get level B and C attorneys.
He watched it on tv and said to himself, yeah I will do this. Then his lawyers phones ring, over and over.
Life is too short to need money that bad.
