A very revealing Donald Trump quote about why he ran for president

Ask most politicians why they run for president and you are likely to get an answer that sounds something like, “I wanted to do the most good for the most people as possible,” or something similar.

Maggie Haberman for her forthcoming book, “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America,” revealed the “why” behind his past and (likely) future bids for the nation’s highest office.

“The question I get asked more than any other question: ‘If you had it to do again, would you have done it?’” Trump told Haberman. “The answer is, yeah, I think so. Because here’s the way I look at it. I have so many rich friends and nobody knows who they are.”

OK. So, just to be crystal clear here – Trump is saying that if he had it to do all over, he would run for president again because it made him more famous. That the key motivation for him to run for president was to be well-known – and it worked. /SNIP

Found this to be a nice affirmation of my feelings since the beginning of orange madness.

Sounds to me that he's saying the Presidency hooked him up with secret rich supporters.

It's almost kind of weird, how he just repeatedly says the quiet part out loud. Even a toddler knows how to deny they've eaten the chocolate even when it's all over their face. Is it because he's never been held to account for the things he says?

Any and every malignant narcissist would kill to be POTUS. Think about what drives a narcissist, and why POTUS is their dream goal:

While they are in office, they are the center of worldwide attention. Every second of every minute of every hour of every day.

No narcissist could resist getting that kind of attention. Attention and adoration and power are what all of them crave, with every fiber of their being.

Plus, to satisfy his grifter side, all that access to the US Treasury?

All of his life, he wanted to be POTUS, more than he'd wanted anything in his entire awful life. He would have done anything for it, and probably did do anything to get there.
