snip-"A documentary film focusing on the recent sex abuse scandal at Ohio State University has begun production, HBO has announced.

The film is based on a 2020 Sports Illustrated cover story written by Jon Wertheim about allegations of sexual abuse that occurred at Ohio State University from 1978 to 1998. The story details how the university’s athletics physician Richard Strauss abused hundreds of male student athletes, mostly on the wrestling and football teams, and how the university swept the abuse under the rug. An independent investigation into the allegations was conducted in 2018, and concluded that the university new about the abuse as early as 1979 but did not report it to law enforcement. Strauss retired from the university in 1998, and died by suicide in 2005."

more there.

I didn't find any release date any where.

iMDB says it's in production, but I took at look at the websites for the production companies involved. None of them show anything about this supposed documentary coming soon, being in production, or even being in development.

Methinks the project is dead.

But I cannot find anything else. Obviously that date is not correct.

I attended Ohio State University during the time period of the abuse but knew nothing about it.
It is a huge campus.

But a couple of years ago I did receive an official letter from OSU stating that since I had
attended OSU during the time period of the allegations, they wanted to know if I had experienced
any abuse by anyone during this time. And to come forward.

During that period of time, OSU faculty and staff were the good ole boy's club.
They could do anything and get away with it.

My graduate program had just gone from all male to half female students, and the professors boasted
about being tenured and what that meant. One professor got up in front of class and said being tenured
meant he could rape someone on the Oval and get away with it. The women students were shocked.
But we understood what the message meant.

Students at OSU at that time were just meat grinder material, especially for PhD students who did all the work
for the professors. Taught the classes, graded papers, did all their research, etc.
And we were taught our place and how to grovel.

My daughter more recently attended OSU and the culture has changed a great deal.
Thank God.

Something is off about the whole release date situation, I agree.

Nothing about it on the websites for the relevant production companies. I mean, not one whiff of anything. Two of the three main players show future releases for other projects, but not this one.

https://www.101studiosco.com/all_projects

https://www.smokehouse-pictures.com/Productions/

The 3rd production company, Sports Illustrated Pictures is useless. They list nothing at all, past or present, and over no means to find anything they're up to.

Now there's a slim chance that the websites haven't been updated in a while...but I don't think so.
