Do you want to donate for Flowers for Nancy and Paul Pelosi?

Donation Link ~~~~~~~~ https://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=17351334 ~~~~~~~~~~~

Do you remember when DU sent loads of flowers to Barbara Boxer? I believe it had to do with her efforts to oppose the Iraq War.

A bunch of DUers have been talking about doing something similar for Nancy Pelosi. See this thread: https://democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=17348022

Vote below on how you think we should approach this.

The overwhelming vote is for 1 bouquet of flowers and donations to Warnock. The Warnock donation link can be found on this thread by Omaha Steve. https://democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=17351334

We'll soon post another thread with donations for flowers, but those donations should be small, with the bulk of your donation going to Warnock, should you so choose.

Be able to suggest her favorite charity if donations are to be spent.
Flowers to her home and family is a great show of love.

Honestly, there’s nothing stopping anyone here from donating to Warnock.
I’d rather see this all about, and for Madame Speaker

Just my opinion

A novella due to a publisher and a talk to give on the 17th. You'd have to take over.

ask for a tally, and then send a card with the flowers saying we donated x amount in her honor.
Omaha Steve could keep track of the donations if we go through his link.

Her Washington DC office, that is.

After what happened to her husband IN THEIR HOME, I would want to avoid anything sent to her home. Even good stuff and nice things. Have it sent to Capitol Hill. That way EVERYBODY there will see it, hear about it, and talk about it.

We plan on coordinating with a DUer's (deurbano) daughter who knows some of Pelosi's staffers.

The contribution link for Warnock is through this thread. https://democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1002&pid=17351334

I'm still coordinating with deurbano about the flower donations.

I’d expect her to return to DC next week, though. Lame duck session will be underway and Dems have a last chance (til Christmas break/early January) to get a few things finished.

money to DCCC. I know she supports Warnock but she's always been in the house and concerned about money to "her people"

Build a 10 foot tall plywood structure on the sidewalk in front of her house, cover it in Kraft Paper and invite people to swing by and sign it like a big Get Well Soon card.

To bouquets and a donation. I don't think we have enough time to get it done before the run-off.

As to the charity...ask someone in her office for suggestions.

a good donation in her name to Rev Warnock. If I recall, Barbara Boxer had a truckload of flowers to dispose of after she received them. Makes a lot of work for her staff. 1 large bouquet and a donation to Warnock is a much better plan.

I got a text from Skinner earlier today -- he was going through boxes in his basement and sent me a pic of an old letter from Nancy Pelosi to DU. I guess way back in 2002, DU members sent flowers to her when she became the first woman to lead the Democrats (she became House Minority Leader-elect in 2002). Skinner didn't know about the latest effort to send flowers btw, it was just a coincidence that he happened to find this today.

Anyway, thought you might like to see the letter! (I blurred out the old DU address.)
