Manchin will still be a player. It will most likely Sinema that will be immaterial.

But, hopefully with Sinema up for re-election in 2 years she will be less obstructionist and better behaved.

Dare the Republicans to vote against it.

I think at least two of them will come around
to nullify Manchin and Sinema.

7. The House will simply never bring it up for a vote.

Plus, it will matter what the Senate passes, if it can pass anything. Still have the filibuster to overcome. Efforts last session to come up with a compromise on abortion in the Senate fell apart when agreement couldn't be reached on the specific terms of the bill. And if a bill gets through the Senate that is fairly narrow, there will be Democrats in the House who would vote against it.

9. Disagree first on the agenda. Make sure to have national voting standards

The only reason death sentence won Florida is because we do not have federal voting standards

His ability to gerrymander and then suppress his gobsmackingly illegal in his ass should be in jail. But let's ask the DOJ to do their job

You need those 2 Republicans to be willing to get rid of the filibuster (or at least do a carve-out) first. Sinema does support codifying Roe, as do Collins & Murkowski (from the GOP side).

Otherwise you need 10 to reach cloture to advance such a bill as long as that Rule is in place (but it only takes a simple majority to change the Rule).

12. The 51st Senate seat is a big deal

There are two major advantages to the Democrats getting 51 seats.

1. The Democrats will have majorities in all committees and can issue subpoenas. Currently each Senate committee have an equal number of republicans and democrats on the committee. One cannot issue a subpoena with the vote of the majority of a committee which is why the senate cannot do any major investigations.

2. Speed up nomination confirmation process for judges. Since there are an equal number of republicans and Democrats on the judiciary committee, the vote on a good number of judicial nominees have been ties and had to go to the full senate to break the tie. That is one reason why VP Harris has casted so many tie breaker votes.

Having 51 senators is a big deal.

13. If we get 51 and Cinema and Mansion abstain from voting, it'll be tied 49 to 49.

In which case Harris could break the tie. But I doubt they will abstain. Is that right?
Ay any rate, 51 means Mansion will lose some leverage.
