My fellow DU'ers were right. The GOP is much CRAZIER than I gave them credit for.

(5,044 posts)I really thought the GOP were going to rearrange the deck chairs to make Huntsman the nominee.

(62,269 posts)They've consistently said Hunstsman will be the nominee (there are DU2 posts but DU2 isn't loading right now).
Good on the OP for coming out. It's OK to be wrong.

(5,044 posts)Huntsman was the only real credible threat.

(5,158 posts)Not like Huntsman had a chance anyway. He's too sane for the GOP.

The surest way for Obama to win is if the economy gets better for the average guy. When we're hurting, the uninformed voter will vote for the other guy.

(5,044 posts)The Obama haters never voted for him anyway so lets hope the President can get the Independents back. I think we are starting to see the Indies come back home.

(62,269 posts)Takes guts to admit it, so hold the tail up high.
(I do remember that prediction you made, not sure if I commented at that time though.)

(5,105 posts)At first, I thought you were *nuts* but then I thought about it for a few minutes, and decided you were potentially right. After all, Huntsman has barely been asked any questions, a blank slate (except for the Mormon thing). So, you'll have to talk about me as well next time you recite that "tale" between your legs.

Just goes to show, you should never bet on politics or football.

(122 posts)is in or out is irrelevant, he was never and I mean never going to be the nominee. He's hoping to be vp. Ron Paul is more of a concern than Huntsman would ever be, especially if Ron Paul decides to run 3rd party. I believe Obama will be re-elected, but we can't afford put blinders on. There is a voting block out there that is strongly ABO(anybody but Obama) and we have to take that into consideration. I know Obama has his team working the streets hard to register new voters. Those that were too young to vote in 08, we need a strong youth vote like we had in 08.
