So if Trump loses the GOP primaries to DeSantis,

do you expect him to accept the results as 'free and fair' or to cry 'rigged and stolen', waging an unrelenting social/media war against Ron-boy to get his MAGAts to stay at home? Can you see Trump accepting defeat?

How many Republicans would stay at home in 2024 - 10%, 20%, more? What is DeSantis' path to victory?

That is part of his strategy. He will not only cry foul after the election, he will start early and talk about how RINOs don't want him to run because they are part of the "globalist" or whatever term the conspiracists care about that day, are trying to silence his "America First" movement.

Trump will go scorched earth. He is a one trick pony.

… out to vote for him, and rest of the party will come out to vote for Desantis. But they’ll ALL vote Republican down ticket. I’d prefer he stay home and whine, and encourage his cult to do the same.

cases are. If he feels particularly vulnerable, I could see him extracting a pledge, or trying to, to be given immunity if the nominee wins in exchange for staying out of the race and supporting. Going 3rd party would ensure a dem victory and guarantee he’d be screwed.

I can see him setting ups another scam PAC, and fundraising from it, ala Stop The Steal II. Revenge.
