If you want to read a great book about the covid pandemic read this.

Premonition by Micheal Lewis.

One of the great quotes in the book, "You cannot outrun a pandemic."

The book shows how difficult it is to deal with a pandemic. Responding quickly is the key. Isolate people, trace and test. Trump, the CDC, did not respond quickly. They were completely incompetent. Game over. One of the toughest decisions that has to be made if you do respond quickly is this. Do you shut everything down right away before you really know what you are dealing with. That is a tough call.

If you do read this book you will learn about the Wolverines.

He actively fought testing because the numbers would make him look bad.

May he get everything he so richly deserves.

JFC! My last biology class was in high school, but even I know that a pandemic doesn't give a shit about state lines. They were arrogant & thought they were the smartest guys in the room, when really they were criminally stupid.

They choose to play politics with a deadly pandemic. One of the things I learned I learned from the book was how stupid the CDC was. It matters who is in charge of the CDC. Trump did get American citizens, thousands of them, out of China when the virus struck.
They were isolated for two weeks and the CDC did not test them after the two weeks was up. Not necessary they said. That was stupid.

If you read the book you will learn about a young girl and her science project. You will learn the history of how our government dealt with planning for a pandemic starting with George W Bush and how a lot of that planning was flushed down the toilet by Trump.

Everyone should read this book. Since then, my family is down 3 members, lost to Covid, including my beloved Dad who died just a month ago from this horrific virus.
