The OP says that this is what Rhodes believes. Let's not jump to conclusions based on somewhat skewed opinions of a convicted felon musing about his future.

No fucking kidding...

The OP stated that Rhodes and others "believe" they will not serve a day in jail from this conviction. To which the person who responded (and to whom you responded) asked why they were not already in jail for this conviction.

A lot has to be read into things when people do not take the time to clearly state what they are trying to communicate.

Where was this convicted felon "musing about his future"? A link to the musings, or even a description of where the musings could be found would have made a clearer picture.

Where was this convicted felon "musing about his future"? In the mind of the OP. I took it to be self-evident.

I could have said "Let's not jump to conclusions based on the OP's speculation about somewhat skewed opinions of a convicted felon musing about his future", which would twice remove the content of the post I responded to from what is in the OP, making it twice as odd as I suggested it was, but I felt it was redundant.

so I'm gonna guess he gets 20 years total. The judge is probably researching Civil War cases right now.

He's been in jail for the last ten & a half months already.
He can't think he'll never serve a day when he's already been in the slammer for 320 days.

Apparently some Puerto Rican nationalists entered the US Capitol in 1954 and shot several House members. On the conspiracy charges, they got 6 years:

"On July 13, 1954, the four nationalists were taken to New York, where they declared themselves not guilty on the charges of "trying to overthrow the government of the United States".[11] On October 26, 1954, judge Lawrence E. Walsh found all of the accused guilty of conspiracy, sentencing them to six additional years in prison." - Wikipedia

Of course the attempted murder charges had them in for much longer so the 6 was just a tack-on.
Rhodes was also found guilty of two other crimes so maybe he'll get 18 years?

he will probably spend the rest of his life in jail (or a good chunk of it), all the while, he will deny that he's actually in prison.

And they’ll remain in custody for a number of years, depending on the sentence.
