“Them folks, them blacks and Hispanics, we’re their friends, not the Democrats.”

Conservative leader: Democratic Party is ‘party of the KKK’

The founder of a movement to increase racial diversity within the Republican Party told a crowd of tea party supporters on Sunday that they weren’t racists because “the Democratic Party is the party of the KKK.”

Speaking at the first ever South Carolina Tea Party Convention, Raging Elephants leader Apostle Claver explained that Republicans would need to attract black and Latino voters if they intended to win elections in the future.

“Look around,” Claver told the mostly-white crowd. “Y’all hear me? Turn around and take a look. Where’s our black brothers and sisters? Where’s our Hispanic and Latino brothers and sisters? Our Asian brothers and sisters?”

“Now here’s the good news,” he continued. “Them folks, them blacks and Hispanics, they’re just as conservative as you are. … But the point is, we’re they’re friends, not the Democrats.”

That is why Strom Thurmond ran to the Repuke side of the aisle right after the Civil Rights Act past.

Always make sure to draw a distinction between a Democrat and the now extinct SOUTHERN Democrat.... and let others know the Southern Democrat "evolved" into a TeaBagger.

I'm a Democrat.

I know what was meant, but I find that passe.

Nixon didn't do shit. The South didn't go Republican until 25 years after he was out of office.

according to Romney hispanics should get no benefits, and that according to Gringrich and Santorum they should be thrown out of the country.

So if this guy wants to know "where they are" the answer is as far away from him as possible.

Either that, or he's an actor. One only has to read the Opinions sections in the local newspapers around here to see how white republicans feel about minorities of any shade. Blacks have been experiencing that shit all their lives. Apparently, this guy hasn't (or is a wannabe who has been ignoring it), or more likely, he's being paid to tell these nutbags what they want to hear, and in the way they want to hear it. He sure has Teabbagerspeak down pat.

Steele has a regular gig on MSNBC now...he's on ALL the shows.

Watts makes a fortune on the "speaker" circuit.

Same deal for Ann Coulter, Michelle Malkin, SE Cupp...women can find a lucrative role in the GOP if the "base" finds them to be attractive and they're willing to stay on script.

Dressed just as nicely as he is now. Hang out there for 8 hours on the day that everyone arrives - just hobnob with other conservatives, read the paper, etc. Then when the day is over, I'd like to know how many white attendees to the Convention asked, told, or expected him to carry their bags and ask him how much enthusiasm for the GOP that gives him.

The word "'Dixie'" refers to privately issued currency from banks in Louisiana. These banks issued ten-dollar notes, labeled "Dix", French for "ten", on the reverse side. The notes were known as "Dixies" by English-speaking southerners, and the area around New Orleans and the French-speaking parts of Louisiana came to be known as "Dixieland". Eventually, usage of the term broadened to refer to most of the Southern States.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dixie

I get a kick out of the fact that the Land of Dixie is named after the French term for a 10-dollar bil, though I bet many conservative English-only folks from the South do not realize this.
