Here's the thing, while Trump is a terrible person and human being and displays what sort of horrible people are conservatives in this nation, he had a gift when it came to appealing to certain people. Trump had a gift for making losers and bad people feel good about themselves, and they worshipped him for that.
Musk is all that is bad with Trump; only he lacks the gift. You don't see people liking, admiring, or supporting Elon Musk. I mean, right-wingers approve of his efforts to further their sinister agenda, but they don't like the guy.
So we have a thoroughly unlikeable monster who is now the poster boy for what it means to be a Republican/Libertarian/Conservative in America, and it's pretty much offputting to everyone.

Is absolutely totally and completely incorrect. I meet people who respect, admire and will not let anyone say a negative word about him without shouting them down, everyday.

(3,487 posts)I monitor right-wing social media and even discussed Musk with right-wingers. When challenged on Musk, they usually mount a "whataboutism" defense which is one they use when they know they are defending someone bad

And any liberals and Democrats who buy the cars which are at the bottom in terms of quality are putting money in this loser's pocket. It will be used against us.

(720 posts)One of my childhood friends parents met Trump in Trump Tower in NYC in the early 1990s. They said he was loud but likable but seemed to talk to everyone in the building when speaking to them. He initially asked them how did they like his building and then began to tell them about it. They said he definitely kept their interest.

As to twitter, alas, RWers' hatred, racists, violence and un-realistic conspiracies again are flooding the airwaves. Dictatorship countries, fascist countries love this in it's existence of plotting to take control of the world. Democracies will never waiver for the lookout of the constant the good vs evil scenario.

(68,456 posts)He asked that they be hidden so he didn't have to see them and called several work areas by racist plantation names...like slave ship, plantation ETC...the "N" word was used and this is what Musk said about it. A Black woman was called he pregnant 'Black Bitch' after she fainted after a grueling shift...Musk is a racist piece of shit. And honestly, I don't block folks but I will block any that defend this scumbucket.
'Part of not being a huge jerk is considering how someone might feel who is part of a historically less represented group, he wrote. In fairness, if someone is a jerk to you, but sincerely apologizes, it is important to be thick-skinned and accept that apology. If you are part of a less represented group, you dont get a free pass on being a jerk yourself.

(9,224 posts)that impression wore off quickly. It's not like he created and invented them all by himself. The more we hear and see him and the more he reveals himself, the less impressive he is. He is like drumpf in that way... he didn't continue to endear himself to people. He became more repulsive the more we learned. IMO.
(though I know he still has his fans)
