Question about Ukraine funding

Being the GQP is owned by the Military Industrial Complex, (as are some Dems) how will the political cash source react to the loss of billions being spent for Ukraine weapons since they are not taking in cash for Iraq and Afghanistan? Will they approve of MTG et al zeroing their sweet profits while our soldiers are not dying there? Sure seems like the MIC is in a win win here with profits and our soldiers are not involved.

The military aid given Ukraine comes from existing stocks, much of it scheduled for retirement. A dollar value is attached for bookkeeping purposes, but no actual expenditure is involved. Monies spent will be spent here, for new equipment and ammunition, from the usual suppliers. It will be.

Saying the aide should not be given, I am 100 percent for it. I am saying the industries that build the weapons are historically huge contributors to GQP politicians. I just heard Malcom Nance say two of the largest manufacturers of military weapons are in the States of MTG and Boebert. My question is how will the industries react to the desire of GQP to cut that money?
I fully suppprt every dime and every effort to help Ukraine.

I was sure your heart was in the right place, and merely providing a line of argument which might be of use.

I did not know that. My only question is, the war toy makers get unquestioned cash in the defense budget. Actually the last budget they were awarded 10’s of millions more than was asked for.
Where ever the money comes from, those industries get paid big money for the toys. And they are mostly pro GQP fund donators. So I am curious how they feel about reps in their states, Georgia, Colorado and Florida, demanding to end the money. It’s not like we have an Afghan/Iraq conflict to keep the demand up.
I fully support helping Ukraine fight for democracy, especially now that there is world wide efforts to end it. Supported by Putin, other dictators and 1/3 of America. This is one war where we actually ARE helping to bring/keep democracy.
