Evangelicals/Christians turning to DeSantis, Away from Trump?

Evangelicals/Christians turning to DeSantis, Away from Trump?

Influential evangelical Christians have turned against Trump after his 2024 announcement, report says

Super Christian Trump, beloved by his flock.

Openly bragged about his adultery, grabbing women by the pussy, and ridiculing holy communion.

Annointed/appointed by God.

Would believe Trump over Jesus for credibility...

About 2:55 on the timeline.

"Let me tell you," he continued. "If Jesus Christ gets down off the cross and told me Trump is with Russia, I would tell him, hold on a second, I need to check with the president if it is true. That is how confident I feel in the president."

that the Christian Trump voters would be turning away from Trump because he doesn't reflect their values, because he certainly does. He hasn't changed at all. IF they are turning away from him, it's only because they don't believe he can win.

De Santis may surprise them if he runs for President. I think he is much less likely than Trump to pander to their foolishness. What he's doing now makes him very popular in Florida, where the population is older and more Christian than the nation as a whole. If he wants to be President, he's likely to decide he needs to attract younger and less religious voters. The Christian Republican base won't like that one little bit.

the only reason DeFascist hasn't bitten back is he's afraid of losing the hardcore Trump-humper vote

Once the primary heats up for real. Easy for the RW political groups including Evangelicals to say this now. But until Trump and his cronies start using the whip and slanderous, opposition research or starts hitting the airways with genuine 3rd-party threats, I'll remain neutral on the subject.

Because the only things that move the current crop of Republicans is power, money and winning at all costs.

Trump is an albatross the GOP willingly bought. Will they politically kill him or hang his bloated, smelly body around their necks?

Gonna be a a helluva show!

this is like countless other times they were supposedly going to stand up to him, like going into the convention.

As you note, once it starts getting down and dirty if his hard core base sticks with him, and a couple dozen other loons get into the race and split up the remaining votes and he starts winning the primary, they will dutifully get on board cause ... LIBERALS.

I don’t believe these people actually have true political convictions or they never would’ve bowed to Trump. They go wherever they have to to advance their agenda. Finally they are moving on not because they’ve seen the light on trump but that they think DeSantis has a better chance at winning.
