Why am I a Democrat

Values!
Belief of ones choice is not ruled by others, Freedom of Choice.
Belief for those have the right to life of decency, not to be held in bondage of servitude by large contrast of wealth verses poor.
Belief of truth and responsibility of control.

My values is dont expect a handout, work for it, but take it if you failed. We are all set to fail, luck just shines onto those that dont need the handout. I took a handout when going to college, it was called the Pell Grant. Now I pay my taxes and dont complain for it goes to help others like it did for me in the 90s. Democratic programs help those in need, thats why I am a Democrat!

Why are you a Democrat?

In the 2010s, I also took the “handout” called Pell Grants that paid for my college. I now have a good paying job because of it. If it weren’t for these Democratic programs like Pell Grants, then I likely wouldn’t have found this good job and career I now have. These programs help create opportunities for folks near the bottom. I don’t think I could have afforded college without the financial aid. That’s one of the reasons I’m a Democrat.

I believe in intellectual honesty and I'm as disgusted by the Ukraine War as I was by The Iraq War.

I still believe the ACLU was RIGHT to defend the "Unite the Right" scumbags.

I believe violence is never acceptable, even against people some "don't like"

Big money in politics is wrong NO MATTER whose pocket it hits.

And ALL politicians have a duty to make sure the wealthy pay their fair share. Even if they're donors.

I feel many in the Party lurching RIGHT.

“You know, we're living in a society! We're supposed to act in a civilized way.”

The Democratic Party advocates civilized policies, and generally behaves thusly as well. The Republican Party does the absolute opposite. The contrast could not be more stark, and the choice between the two couldn't be easier.

• When every person
a. is guaranteed rights, opportunity, and equity,
b. can make a good living,
c. is respected,
then all benefit and the nation benefits.
• Government invests in its citizens.
• Labor and innovation create wealth.
• Productivity gains are shared with those who are less blessed than others.
• Government is by the people and for the people.
• The legal system protects rights, especially of minorities.
In short: equality, honor and fairness.

The thugs believe in the converse.
• Money and power are concentrated in the hands of a few.
• Business grows by monopoly aggregation and by stifling competition.
• Freedom means no regulation. Nothing more.
• Government enforces "the economic order" (a caste system)
• Workers and voters are kept from uniting, chiefly by a divide and conquer strategy, i.e culture wars.
• Welfare for the rich. The fraud called "Trickle Down" really means "golden showers". (wink, wink)
In short: inequality, arrogance and privilege

One of my first memories was walking from the polling place with my Mom.
I asked her who she voted for.
She said "Eisenhower"
I expressed my disappointment that she didn't vote for Stevenson.

Precocious!
