Jen Psaki Debut Beats Fox News

MSNBC’s Inside with Jen Psaki was the top cable news show with viewers age 25-54 on Sunday as it beat Fox News and almost doubled CNN.

According to Nielson ratings data as provided to PoliticusUSA, Inside with Jen Psaki was the most-watched show on cable news at noon in 15 of the nation’s top 20 markets. Psaki was number one on all of cable TV in New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. Psaki delivered MSNBC’s highest-rated weekend debut in four years.

Most impressively, Psaki nearly beat Fox News in total viewers, “In terms of total viewers, Fox News Live’s total viewership of 1.106 million slightly outnumbered the total viewership for Inside With Jen Psaki, which stands at 1.094 million viewers before the rounded figure. In the same time slot, CNN drew 599,000 total viewers and garnered 120,000 viewers in the demo.”

The show also benefits from Psaki’s high profile and preexisting relationship with viewers who watched her as President Biden’s press secretary. Jen Psaki has a wealth of modern political knowledge and communicates it effectively with viewers.

It has been years since MSNBC had a host debut as smoothly and strongly as Jen Psaki, who looks like she is changing the Sunday show game and potentially posing a big headache for Fox News.

She will be well-positioned for this coming year of "drama" and I hope to see her be able to do fill-in duty during the weekdays once she really gets her feet wet and is comfortable with her producers and the flow....

I’ve never been one for watching these shows, but I do enjoy a synopsis of something relevant now and again. I’m sure to see her in lots of videos.

I’m still kinda a sad that only about 2.6 million watch all three combined. Talk about an uninformed populace.

10. I'm of the opinion, that as a general rule, these shows have not fulfilled that objective since

the creation of FOX news. CNN originally did a fair job of it before the advent of Murdoch's dis-informational media scheme.

They weren't perfect, but you know, appreciatively adequate enough. at least to a point. But when they felt like they needed to compete with Murdoch for viewers, it just went downhill in terms of "informing the public" with important information.

I cut the cord years ago because Cable is a huge rip off for me. I do stream on Roku, I tune into some MSNBC coverage and occasionally view clips of the evening shows, but I still can't bring myself to watch as a matter of routine.

I consume the news largely online. I would watch Psaki. anytime night or day.

15. I remember how much I wanted to cut the cord before I heard of Roku.

Hard times fell on me that forced the matter but I was able to view anything on local news over the air until I moved far enough away from the Bay Area broadcast tv stations. Roku devices, and a Roku tv came into play and oh boy, plus extraordinarily low cost wi-fi at $10 a month and I was good to go. I

mostly watch music related videos on youtube. Prime. Amazon, Netflix and Britbox for film and tv. I started paying a premium subscription for youtube without ads. The current rate is $11.99 a month. I'm going to watch that rate carefully. I'll suffer ads again if needs must, and youtube gets too damn greedy. It's not exactly hard times, I'm just poor living on SS. So I have to budget carefully.

"Psaki’s high profile and preexisting relationship with viewers who watched her as President Biden’s press secretary."

Just like Hunter, she only got the job because of her relationship with President Biden and that should be investigated.

I hope that was sarcasm. She rose to prominence bcause of the amazing job she did while working for Biden. She got the job at MSNBC because of her demonstrated brilliance, not because of her "relationship with Biden."

9. I hope her show becomes a big headache for the GQP who continue to support Trump AND DeSantis.

It is time for the Dems to keep reminding the voters that DeSantis represents the party of insurrectionists, lawlessness, racism, anti-LBGTQ and corporate criminals who continue to hurt ordinary working Americans.

The Whitmer segment was the best, followed by her own statement about her vision for the show.

Hakeem Jefferies came of with the personality of a wet dish rag, and The Adams segment was too cute (he rides the subway! He’s just like us!)

Hoping for some more insightful, hard hitting shows in the future.
